Meissen runs partnership relations with six towns from all over the world –Europe, Asia and America. The first partnership was established in the year 1964 with the French town Vitry-sur-Seine. With the Japaneese town Arita we are interlaced by porcelain manufacturing. The German town Fellbach, near Stuttgart, is as well as Meissen a town of viticulture. The Greek town Korfu is known for its cultural and architectual inheritance. The Bohemian town Litomerice and Meissen are united by the Elbe river, viticulture, historical city-centres and the similar natural environment. The youngest twin town (since 2001) is Provo, a town which is situated in Utah state, USA. It is known for its high technology industry and for its beautiful nature of the Rocky mountains.
